There has been a huge increase in the size of cities. Many cities have grown in a haphazard way. Why is careful planning important in the development of cities? It has been a while since increasing urbanization has become a headache for the governments. This issue has made cities grow in a haphazard way. So in order to avoid catastrophic problems in the future, we have to preplan/plan ahead and get ready to face the cities’ growth. First and foremost, it is important to make the cities ready for hosting the future’s population by enhancing the cities’ infrastructures. Once the cities are built, they will be almost impossible to reconstruct. For instance, we have to embark upon building wide roads to avoid the future’s traffic congestions. Moreover, if we don’t do not make build/construct an efficient sewerage system, it will be likely that wastewater gets logged which can cause many communicable diseases. In addition, we should consider that city sprawls not only do make the residents’ lives miserable but also they can affect the environment in tremendous ways. For example, deforestation and drainage of water resources. Everyday new buildings and industrial facilities are built and in order to make it happen, we have to consume materials such as wood. If we don’t do not think of a solution for it, Jungles will be devastated. Furthermore, our water resources are limited and , which is why we have to build a system to save more water as well as lowering our consumption. To sum it up, careful planning has an essential role in the development of cities to avoid future’s disastrous problems such as deforestation and to improve the cities’ infrastructures.
