In recent years some countries have experienced very rapid economic development. This has resulted in much higher standards of living in urban areas but not in the countryside. This situation may bring some problems for the country as a whole. What are these problems? How might they be reduced? During the last couple of decades unsustainable development has become one of the major concerns of governments the world over. This phenomenon is especially more evident in developing countries in which accumulation of facilities and opportunities in municipal areas tempt the young inhabitants of small towns to abandon the place where they belong to and move to cities in pursuit of their delusional dreams. On one hand, the unfettered immigration affects city life drastically. Erratic city/urban sprawl and the subsequent population explosion without provision of the minimum requirements and infrastructure (easily neglected things like housing, medical care, streets and highways, schools, job opportunities, and adequate security measures to take care of the increasing population) has exacerbated the quality of life in mega cities and resulted in increased unemployment, more traffic congestions, and higher crime rates. On the other hand, emigration from the country side has resulted in work force shortages, for instance there are not enough farmers to work on farming lands. Not only does it (This not only affects) the quality of life in rural areas but also aggravate deteriorates the country's economy due to deficit in supply of the necessary raw materials to the whole country. Moreover, without the power of youth, vitality diminishes in those areas and they will become dull places to live in. It is the governments' responsibility to take the necessary measures to impede the unprecedented immigration to big cities. They can subsidize farming activities to increase the revenue of agricultural activities and make it a more interesting way to make a living. Additionally, provision of opportunities shall be in such a way that provides all spectra of populace with a balanced quality of life. Consequently, even though developing countries, on the face of it, are progressing and the quality of life is apparently improving, but if governments do not adopt/take the proper/necessary actions to remedy the imbalance between their major cities and other parts of the country, they will are by no means be moving in the right wrong direction.
