In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this. It is quite common these days that teenagers are allowed to explore the world through traveling and have a break period between secondary school and starting their tertiary educations because it is proven to be beneficiary for them. Both the advantages and disadvantages will be discussed and we can go to the conclusion afterwards. The reason for this trend may entail the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted and missesed/lost the opportunity to have a general knowledge and experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time (for/ obtaining a) living or traveling to other places have a broader view of life. Moreover, the individuals who prefer to have this break period could be exposed to diverse cultures and traditions, so they certainly acquire a wide variety of social knowledge. Eventually this experience aids them in their higher studies. On the other hand, this tendency encompasses few drawbacks likewise. It is obvious when youngsters are going to have a travel or work, the education process will be disrupted. While they start to earn money through work they tend to be more independent. In this situation they may not show interest towards returning to continue their educations, so they decide to end up their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment. They also may incline towards bad habits such as smoking, alcohol consumption, drug addiction. and so on. My view is that it this is better for young people to be encouraged to broader broaden their horizon. I opine that such a perspective usually makes them more most effective and motivated. ones.
