Traffic Problems of big cities Traffic congestion is a fundamental problem in some modern civilizations. It is created due to the urgent need in transportation to manage the daily affairs. It consumes time and energy of many people. In general, it is the capitals of the whole population of a country which are is wasted in the crowded road/streets. In the city where we live, all citizens are dealing with this issue daily. Unfortunately, as it seems there is no comprehensive policy to confront this important problem efficiently. So day by day it is (deteriorating) getting bigger and bigger and each citizen has to allocate more time to reach his/her destination. One of the main reasons of the blockage is concentration of the major part of facilities and money in certain points/areas of a country which must be corrected as soon as possible. It is truly logical when all the facilities are gathered in one region, all the population living in different parts will tend to inhabit in that very point.(centralization, decentralization) As I heard before, the Guinness longest traffic jam is recorded in China for more than 100 kilometers. But I think this record is now belongs to us. The length of traffic in the Tehran to Chalus road amounts to 170 kilometers in on some holidays and it may last more than a day. In spite of the overpopulation which our country faces it, some solutions might be accessible. Most crowded countries like Japan have tried many methods to overcome this challenge.phenomenon. They extend their highway networks,; manage the distribution of the population in their country territory and use their resources desirably. In conclusion, traffic congestion is a big problem and big problems need big actions. The government should codify certain policies to help the citizenry to save their time, and the people themselves must perceive they should not not to use private cars as much as possible. Public transportation is an important alternative which both the government and people should be responsible about. In addition, walking and cycling amenities are required in different cities and should be constructed by the municipalities.
