It is right that university graduates should earn more money than less well educated people, but they should pay the full cost of their education. To what extent do you agree or disagree? It is sometimes argued that the amounts of money given to people with an academic degree as salary should be more compared to those who have studied less. Personally, not only do I agree with this point of view, but also I think educated people should be financially fully assisted in both paying university tuition fees and other essential costs. There are several reasons why educated people should enjoy higher incomes. Firstly, those who choose to pursue their education to a higher level, ordinarily, are going through a period of rough time. While studying in university, they should spend time taking part in classes, doing continuous assessments, and passing ordinarily tough exams. Secondly, the role they are going to play in either society or the job market is extensively harder than those with little academic qualification. Employers usually expect them to do tasks which involve constant intellectual engagement; moreover, they are required to spend more hours at work to achieve the expected results. Thirdly, financial incentives could persuade more people to attend universities. If people are not sure about getting lucrative jobs after graduating, they are less likely to put any effort into attending universities or colleges. Finally, they possess the skills and management abilities which are normally more appreciated by potential employers. Companies, as a result, would be more eager to recruit them with more financial rewards. However, I believe that students should not solely shoulder a total financial burden of tertiary education, for academic education has been proved to be prohibitively expensive. While being in university, students should pay for university fees, textbooks, and accommodation. Obliged to pay for all these costs, many students would not be able to take on academic education. What this might result in is societies are deprived of many potentially intelligent individuals from poorer strata of society. Furthermore, it would promote/spread/deepen/widen social disparity between the poor and the rich, which leads to the communities suffering mostly extremely severe consequences, among which is resentment between people with the different social statuses. In brief, it seems to me that whoever has achieved an academic attainment should be granted higher salary, and monetary resources should be allocated to aiding people completely during their education.
