Topic : Mobile phones and the internet have made it easier to stay in contact with other people. However, as a lot of time is spent using telephones and computers, there is less face-to-face contact and direct communication. Is the growing use of communications technology a positive or a negative development for society? Using the internet and mobile phones has made our communications so much faster and of course easier but as you knowonviously, every invention has its problems and the internet or mobile phones are no exceptions from other human creativities. So it is up to us how to use them. I think using the internet and cellphones as a way of communicating with your friends and family and keeping in touch with them is the most important consequence of these days development. Using them is a way to reduceing home sickness which is the biggest problem of immigration and collage college life but on the other hand, people are getting absorbed in their online activities and spending a lot of time using the internet and mobile phones and forget about their surrounding people and their needs. Basically social media and the internet gives more importance to virtual friends than the real ones and people that are involved in the internet and addicted to using it, forget how to interact with their family, friends and even their coworkers, it which means people are getting more and more lonely by losing their ability of connecting with other people and that is the negative side of using the internet. Anyway, I consider the growing use of communications technology a positive development and I reckon people can control misusing it by managing their time and usinge the internet and cellphones in a better way.
