Some countries have laws that prohibit animals being used in circuses or other forms of entertainment because it is cruel to keep animals in an environment that can cause them stress. Should all countries have laws to prevent animals being used in circuses and similar forms of entertainment? Nowadays after all the movements related to Animal’s Rights, more countries all around the world are trying to set rules for misusing these creatures in entertainment programs such as circuses. This essay is going to discuss whether other countries should do so or not. First of all, for a person to decide, it is important to know where else these kinds of cruelty might go. Entertaining human beings does is not end peculiar to only by circuses; there are different kinds of traditions which contain involve animals suffering. Dog and Cock’s fights are famous in some regions and people gather in big numbers just to see them killing each other. Charreria is another tradition related to some Mexican tribes in which they break animal’s bones in brutal ways, only to beget themselves a happy evening. Matadors of Spain kill the bulls little by little after making them suffer in hours of stress, amongst a crowd all shouting out of happiness to watch them die. This has become more than an entertainment now. In circuses, on the other hand, people in charge and the tamers are trying to teach an animal something which is not in its nature. To do so, they make them suffer by beating, starving and keeping them long hours of day and night in captivity. Is that so important for us humans to entertain ourselves through such cruelties, in an era, in which there are a lot of things to enjoy life? In his famous book, “Homo Sapiens”, Yual Noah Herari, a professor of history, graduated from a Cambridge university graduate, has written that “we human beings have had made a lot of animal species extinct since we started to spread on earth”. Sociologists also have some concerns about these kinds of activities, which are teaching us, generations after generations; to act barbaric and learn how to kill in cold blood. No matter animals or human beings, we are just learning to sacrifice lives for our own good. Altogether, for us human beings to be tamed, we need laws in each and every country not only to forbid such tyranny, but also to criminalize these acts of violence, through which only we can change this habit all over the world.
