In the past, when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country. Nowadays, they have more opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development? You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence. Continuing university education has been always one of the important methods to improve productive skills. These days, with specializing of knowledge in different fields as well as the period of globalization, well-known universities are encountered with high rate of petitions from all over the world. A lot of international students are seeking their matriculation program overseas. This phenomenon has considerable effects on both origin and host countries and can affect their economic and cultural situation significantly. The first and foremost advantage, in my idea, goes with host countries. They utilize the young and well educated generations with minimum cost. In other words, they spend no money for basic educational levels of the elite, but can solve or improve their industrial or other fields with the help of them. What is more, the internationalization of higher education has become a market-driven strategy. The contributions that foreign students make to host country, both culturally and financially has prompted a competition among colleges and universities to attract international students. The people who emigrate for the sake of matriculation can benefit too. The fact is that most of them have better opportunities to deep their knowledge overseas or finding better profit-driven jobs. For instance, I know one of my friends who got a full fund position on McGill University in Canada and wants to live there after finishing his PhD course. By the same token, many international students now consider overseas study a stepping-stone to permanent residency within a country. Despite the above facts, the experience of study abroad is not always positive. Many students find it difficult to adapt themselves with new culture or may become homesick. On the other hand, if they decide to stay permanently, origin countries will lose their elite and probably a valuable potential to use. To sum up, the pursuit of knowledge is worthwhile. Many students are doing their best to get acceptance for higher education in an inexorable effort. Therefore, alongside coping with problems like homesick, they can get chances for a better life or even get residency. Likewise, host countries may utilize these well-educated generations and the gifts that come with them. At the same time, origin countries need to design a plan to return their elite and using their potential.
