In some educational systems, children are required to study one or more foreign languages. In others, foreign language study is not a requirement. What are the potential benefits of foreign language study? Do you think the foreign language study is an important part of education? Although scientists believe that the principal aims of the education system are to improve children’s mental ability, curiosity and creativity, learning a new language is perhaps the most beneficial for their life. It can help them to communicate with other people around the world, expand their knowledge and have more opportunities overseas. Since children have more learning abilities, it is so important to consider language courses in their curriculum from an early age. A person who knows the an international language has the ability to search about for diverse articles on the internet easily and read the main sources directly. By knowing English a person has the chance to gathering data about lots of subjects which has have not been translated into his mother tongue. In many countries like Iran the government has a policy of censorship,. by knowing the main language of a book people have the chance to read it originally. Nowadays as a consequence of globalization people have more opportunities to go ahead with their study or job in other countries, but language barriers deprive them of chances. TheEducation system can plays an important role by teaching a new language especially the an international one. Knowing a foreign language, as a means of communication, exposes them to the customs and cultures of other countries. Communicating with others, especially those from foreign countries broadens children’s understanding of the world. Foreign language study has enormous benefits for children’s intellectual and cultural development. In addition, it is a wellknown fact that it is easier for young children to learn a foreign language. Therefore, starting a foreign language study earlier rather than later is more likely to result in a successful experience.
