Tpo 13 – second part - 348 words The extended family (grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles) is less important now than it was it the past. Agree or disagree? This topic is considered a controversial one. Some people believe in that the importance of the extended family had has decreased reduced and some believe in the exact opposite point. When I was younger, I would definitely have said that the extended family had not lost its importance since past. However, no longer do I think that way for 2 reasons which I will explain in the following essay. To begin with, a vast majority of people are quiet busy these days because of the lack of time and the responsibilities they have. These kinds of issues make them not only struggle with their own problems but also not to pay enough attention to their extended family despite themselves. Having said that, these behaviors are utterly unconscious and have led to decrease decreasing eminence of extended family in this generation’s lives. My own family’s experience is a compelling example of this theory. I can remember that when I was a child we were connected to my aunts and uncles and had gatherings every weekend but now nowadays both of my family and I are busy and it is impossible to communicate with my aunts and whole family every weekend. Secondly, back then families were so crowded and all the family members had lived together, so the importance of the extended family was inevitable and none of the family members could deny it. But this generation’s families are not that chaotic and crowded. Moreover, these days, children are more autonomic autonomous and more likely to leave their family in order to get independent which is why it seems like the extended family had lost its eminency. For instance, these days more people leave their family and hometown and immigrate to other cities and even countries in order to obtain a better life and it is obvious that their family bonds get faderpaler. To sum up, modern life and facing its problems plays a key factor in reducing the importance of the extended family and also we can count reducing the reduction in the number of children in a the family and independence of the family members as another essential factor.
