Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programs (for example working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to young children). To what extent…. Today, more and more individuals have been involved with unpaid community services and these activities have turned into a widespread concern, in that hardly a day goes by, without hearing about the services are carried out freely by NGOs, so high school students are not an exception. However, whether they should join to these NGOs compulsory or voluntary is a controversial issue. To begin with, understanding their role in the environment and society, students contribute to unpaid communities. Thereby, learning responsibility and how to become a productive member, for example they work for a charity to help people having poor living conditions, single mothers who cannot afford their necessary needs, and the other humanitarian actions, all for free and without any exception to come back. Moreover, they can also take steps to keep their neighbourhood clean, and change it into a livable area by planting more tree and flower, holding culturally local events and ceremonies, which lead to increasing a sense of belonging for residents, in particular students themselves. On the other hand, if unwaged activities become compulsory, it would be an unintended consequence. Since students during this age are experiencing puberty, they are becoming more sensitive psychologically, so if they force to do something, it is more likely to emerge some unpleasant reactions to express their complaint. To take everything into consideration, I personally opine that although doing some voluntary activities is an extraordinarily rewarding practiceeffectively contributory way, it should not to be mandatory. In fact, it should be taking into account only if the right to choose is given to students, it would it be working effectively.
