Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective? Heavy traffic and pollution have been considered one of the detrimental consequences of urbanization and soaring populations. Hence, people look for a variety of measures to resolve the problems above‐mentioned, one of which is to raise the price of petrol which may wind up in far much less traffic and consequently healthier weather to breathe. From In my perspective, this may be one of the useful measures, not the best one though. This essay will provide other measures which could further contribute to resolving the problems. Selling the petrol may discourage make individuals from not drivinge their car; however, while there is no substitute, it is going to put them in trouble. Thus, providing some better measures may encourage them to park their car and to drive whenever they have to. Providing enough and different kinds of public transportation for instance, tramway, subway, mass rapid trains could be helpful. Since since these sorts of facilities have the potential to carry a large number of people and furthermore, they are supposed to have a punctual schedule, on which passengers can rely. Considering infrastructures could be another optimal approach with regard to in accordance with resolving the problems. Planting plenty of trees, over‐head bridges or even supplying energy from other sources such as solar, hydro and wind could be some of the constructive measures which worth to invest on.(for reducing pollution) To recapitulate, there are plenty of approaches besides increasing the price of petrol which could curb the escalating traffic and pollution. However, collaboration of both people and the government seems essential to reach the objective.
