Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might to effective? With heavily congested traffic escalatinged/deteriorating, today’s cities are more similar to a parking lot with polluted weather in rush hours rather than a place to live in. Authorities, however, have tried to tackle this matter by increasing the cost of using the cars for owners by rising raising the fuel prices. While any increase in the petrol prices seems to be an immediately effective measure to limit the number of cars on streets, not only does it not solve the problems of traffic jams and weather pollution, but also it has some deleterious effects on people’s lives. For example, the cost of many necessities like foods can dramatically increase owing to higher carriage/transport fares. Additionally, by that measure, rarely are people eager to go on vacations, thereby unfortunately destroying the tourism in the country. Therefore, the rise of in gas prices, irrespective of whether it can solve the traffic issue or not, is not a seemingly practical action. As a feasibly proper move, the governors, instead of dissuading car owners from driving theirs by changing the prices, can encourage them to cycle or walk. They can provide them with appropriate roads to persuade them to go on urban travels by bicycles, thus fulfilling the extremely determined purpose of addressing the traffic issue, and subsequently reduce the environmental contamination. Another procedure that can be taken into consideration is capital investment in public transportation, which with an affordable price, would keep more cars off the roads. Furthermore, by automated traffic management systems the flow of clogged streets can be controlled. Although it cannot decrease the number of automobiles, it can reduce the travel time, hence a sharp decline in carbon emissions. Consequently, being the confluence of differently various factors, both traffic congestion and weather pollution issues cannot be solved by imposing higher charge on people. Thus, growing hiking/boosting the fuel prices may just lead to resentment, whilst by some rationally reasonable measures to motivate the public to use alternative transportation in lieu of their cars we can pave the way for achieving the goal of to handlinge these critically important problems.
