Task 2 Prompt: It is now possible for scientists and tourists to travel to remote natural environments, such as the South Pole. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? Nowadays, hardly a day goes by without hearing news about the breakthroughs in science and technology. Therefore, humans are now much more capable of coping with problems that they face in remote areas. I hold that, due to the many negative outcomes in which we generally experienced in our history, drawbacks clearly outweigh the benefits, as will now be discussed. Developments in technology during recent decades have been opened many doors for us in being capable of reaching and residing in remote natural environments, especially the South Pole. One of the first merits of visiting South Pole or similar locations in terms of having extreme environments, is the magnificent scenery of unspoilt places,. additionally, owing to being far from the hands of any humans, wild life in isolated areas like these is exquisitely rich. On the other hand, one peculiar lesson which history has taught us is that whenever individuals travel to unspoilt habitats like the South Pole, it resulted in the a terrible blow to the ecology. Firstly, via these activities whether leisure or scientific ones, fauna that do live in the area and endemically grown flora are the first casualties that suffer from our handsus, to say the least. Secondly, I would like to stress that, due to the increase in the populace and accommodations, the volume of waste materials and pollution is also surgesurging,. besides, infusion of the smog has severe consequences in the South Pole in terms of global warming. Lastly, by these aforementioned colossal amounts of commuting, the possibility of outbreak of diseases which could afflict the animals is undeniably high. To cut a long story short, although traveling to remote environments might have some benefits, the demerits are tremendously horrendous and unjustified. When all is said and done, in general I opine that yet humans are still incapable of implementing sustainable tourism, thereby travels must be constricted only for scientific purposes.
