Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. To what extent you agree or disagree with this opinion? What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behavior to children? There is no room for doubt that every children needs to learn how to behave towards with the others and know the difference between right and wrong when they are at an early age, so punishment is a one way to prevent children from doing wrong behaviors, but sometimes it is counterproductive (has opposite result), so the question is that what kind of punishment should be used in order to prevent its it's negative side? It is impossible to argue against the fact that in some situations, punishment not only can prevent children against wrong activities, but it makes them to repeat again. Furthermore, corporal punishment, which is done administered/meted out/imposed by some teachers or parents might cause some mental problems for children, which these effects will/might/may last for decades on them. What is more, children feel humiliated when they are punished in front of their peers by their teachers. On the other hand, punishment could has have positive consequences, providing that is used in right way, because in some situations punishment is the last resort/solution and should be done used after advices. However, verbal punishment such as sending children to their room or talking with them with loud voice might be more appropriate than verbal punishment, this should be done only by their parents and teacher might not be allowed to apply these sorts of punishment. With taking every aspects of punishment in consideration, I firmly believe that neither teachers nor parents should not beat children as punishment. While other forms of punishment are necessary in some situations, so they should be able to choose what kind of punishment and penalty is necessary in certain circumstances. |
