Technological progress in the past century has its negative effect, despite its remarkable contribution. To what extent do you agree or disagree? In the past one hundred years, the humankinds have witnessed a substantial improvement in their standards of living thanks to technological advancements. Some maintain that although these improvements have enhanced the quality of people's lives, they have had dire consequences. In my view, this statement is true to some extent. To begin with, the most significant technological development in the 20th century is related to utilizing robots in the factories. Robots are artificially created intelligent devices used in places where repetitive, tiresome tasks are needed to be performed. At the first glance, they are seemed beneficial, but many more workers are becoming unemployed as a result of recruiting robots. In this case, those who lost their jobs should be retrained/educated to become eligible for working in the same factory. Another important development is in the field of transportation in which huge airplanes have facilitated the journeys. Although some people can enjoy rapid and safe trips these days, it could be problematic for others. Take individuals living in the vicinity of an airport as an illustration, they suffer considerably from deafening noise of aircrafts and this could cause mental and even in some cases physical diseases. Of course, government should make a plan to transfer these airports to remote places. The last but not the least development is in medicine where modern diagnosticis devices have been developed considerably which has helped to increase average human lives considerably, and fewer less people are dying died of serious diseases like cancer. However, a large number of tablets are produced each year, but some of them lead to negative spin‐off effects in some individuals. Therefore, the government should inspect and control the process of them to minimize the possibility of any faults. To put it in a nutshell, I pen down saying that although new developments have improved our quality of life in some places, they have had some drawbacks in the same places. Therefore, it is essential to control and alleviate the negative sides of these developments in order to use their full potential.
