Some people say that distance learning is a quick and effective way to study. Others, however, disagree and say that distance learning programs can never be as good as courses taken in person. Do you agree or disagree with the statement? Distance learning is designed to provide educational opportunities to students who are unable to pursue on‐site study. Written correspondence courses, online classes and other remote methods fall under the category of distance learning. Now a query requiring to be raised is whether distance learning is a proper approach or not. The benefits and drawbacks of it are outlined below. First and foremost reason among all the advantages is the availability of education. The possibility of education under any circumstance shows the capability of this system. Undoubtedly, access to an equal education system is the certain right for everybody. People who live in remote villages that have difficulty in movement or lack of facilities should be able to acquire learning. Therefore, distance learning gives the students the flexibility to complete coursework at their home. Moreover, this can beneficial for working professionals who cannot leave their job to pursue (follow) on‐site study. By using this system, not only will urban trips decrease, but also it is a solution for traffic jams and consequently air pollution decline that is a decent job to rescue environment. Despite the numerous benefits, there are some drawbacks that will be outlined. Loneliness and feelings of isolation are not avoided. In a distant learning with a virtual classroom, face‐to‐face communication and consultation can be missed in according to interacting online with peers and instructors. That may jeopardize social communications among young students because the first and foremost experience of sociability is grown (emerged) in the on‐site study. It may lead not to be trained on an equal footing. Additionally, remote learning require some rudimentary equipments such as computer, the Internet and other technologies that related to remote courses which are not available in every place or every time. In sum, the advantages of distant learning system outweigh the pitfalls particularly for those living in remote places. Implementing this method is a proper assistance to authorities to spread education system equally for all walks of life.
