When children start school, teachers have a bigger influence on their academic and social development compared to their parents. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and relevant examples. When children are born, their mind are like blank slates. However, adults will try to curve on this board and in this way it seems that parents and teachers have a competition. Personally, I privilege parents and this essay tries to explain some reasons for it. Primarily, most basic skills in children are acquired before five years old exactly before going to school, the skills whose which have significant impacts on social behaviour and success in academic life, and this serious responsibility rests on parent’s shoulders. For instance, pupils with strong linguistic abilities usually show better performance in learning compared to other students and these abilities mainly are developed at home where parents help their children to talk by constantly conversations or reading story books. Moreover, following some delicate parenting means can lead to huge positive changes in children’s cognitive abilities and even sometimes in their brain which would result in a great achievement in the future. For example, according to some research, deprived of handling over long period, infants tend to some mental issues like social anxiety disorder which can cause trouble for continuing education or improving social status whereas a mother could solve this issue with a warm embrace. Second, teachers usually are responsible for a short period of children’s life and they will be changed periodically. However, lifetime children’s role models are parents who intentionally or unintentionally influence their offspring. In addition, while teachers mostly focus on a special area of knowledge, parents affect children in different ways and it means that general characters of a person is developed in family what he or she will be known by it in the community. In conclusion, although educators and mentors can leave their positive mark on people, especially children, they have been parents who play a central role in creation, development and consolidation of the next generation.
