English is spreading all around the world as global language. Is this a positive or negative development Nowadays, nations from every corner of the planet are perfectly able to communicate with each other, albeit speaking exclusively different languages. This is what English as a wide spread language has admiringly gifted to us. Nevertheless, could there be a downside as well? On the one hand, by no means is it possible to deny the utilities which the global language has brought in its wake. First of all, only because of English are we able to keep up with the very latest issues around the world. For example, the recent news as well as scientific information through either social medias or newly published books and articles written in English. Moreover, as the number of English speakers is growing, consequently, barely one might encounter difficulties in understanding wherever one travels through various countries. Doctors, for instance, due to using English for instructions are having measurably few or even no problems of misunderstanding, which is sometimes fatal, no matter where it is taking place. On the other hand, languages and identities are considered inextricably bound up which the lack of the former of which would negatively affect the latter. Regrettably, many a language has died as a result of English dominance, others, those of which still having have some speakers though losing them,are bound to be doomed sooner or later. Furthermore, in the absence of the mother tongue, the loss of the respectivebelonging culture is inevitable. English as a language spoken by a large number of users has been able to help human beings to have unlimited progress throughout the world. However, similar to other items in man's life, it includes drawbacks as well one of which is the loss of the mother tongue , ultimately a nation's valuable culture.
