The urban transport system receives more funds compared to the rural transport system. Why do you think it is so? How can it be solved? As cities become bigger and more populated than ever, they consume more budgets in almost every sector, one of which is the transport system. This has led to dissatisfaction among many rural dwellers. There are some reasons behind this phenomenon and a few measures can be taken to solve this problem too, all of which will be discussed in this essay. The first answer that comes to mind in questioning possible reasons behind this issue is the matter of overpopulation. Unfortunately, most of the population of a nation lives in cities nowadays. Considering the fact that developing infrastructure in rural areas needs as much money as in urban areas, more people will benefit from developing public transport in cities. This will play a significant role in making the decision of how much money should be allocated in each sector. The other reason to be noted is that the issue of congestion is more profound in conurbations that than in villages. Almost every big city in the world is inflicted by the problem of traffic nowadays, making it necessary to take steps in tackling this problem. Turning to possible solutions, perhaps the first step should be taken in the field of tax income. Enacting laws to dedicate a fixed amount of tax income to develop transport system infrastructure in rural areas seems to be an effective measure. In this way, it can be curtained guaranteed that the rural transport sector will receive enough money. Another effective solution is to undertake campaigns by public to urge governments to invest in transport systems of rural areas. Public-private partnership seems to be another good strategy. Governments can provide incentives to encourage the private sector to invest in developing transport systems in the countryside. To summarize, it seems that due to the larger population and higher intensity of the problem, cities have been able to absorb more money to develop transport infrastructure. Enacting laws and public-private partnership seem to be effective measures in bringing back investment to transport section of rural areas.
