Write a letter to a city planning manager about demolition of a historical building in your area and say:  Explain why it shouldn’t be demolished.  Suggest a future use for this building.  Recommend a way to raise money for repairs. Dear Sir/Madam I am writing to express my bitter regret for what the local council has evidently decided to conduct to the old Ferdows Mansion. Having recently completed its bicentennial, the building has almost been the permanent fixture of our city. This historical site which belonged to the royal family of the Qajar dynasty used to provide accommodation for more than five generations. Albeit deserted and derelict for a nearly a decade now, it is a fine construction which consists of a palace, a pool and a garden surrounding the entire area. The two minarets on both sides of the palace from which one can get an astonishing view of the whole city certainly add to the beauty of this magnificent mansion. Although admittedly the entire area has been abandoned, and maintaining it might impose an extra cost for on the city council, I strongly believe there are viable measures to save this domestic asset. The open courtyard, filled with different kinds of lovely flowers and plants such as lilies and Daisiesdaisies, has been used by locals as a place for family gatherings which is a shared memory among many of the residents and visitors. This creates the opportunity to convert the building into a tourist attraction, providing enough revenue through advertisements. Should the city officials manage to draw attention to this site, raising sums of money would be easy. My friend and I, as local residents truly in love with our city, have already made attempts to make the old Ferdows Mansion a listed building, sending letters to national authorities and meeting with them, and this can bring the building under the spotlight once again. I hope our effort will achieve the desired results and that you will ponder over my request and take the appropriate action. Yours sincerely Reza
