If you are to choose between two apartments to live in next semester, one apartment is near the campus but slightly expensive, the other is a little far from the campus but cheaper, which one do you prefer and why? Picking a suitable place to live depends on many factors one of which is its proximity to one’s work place or university. Were I to choose between these two options I would definitely go for choosing the one which is far from the university for three reasons. First, it is a more economically friendly option. Moreover, I enjoy using public transportation or walk to the campus. Moreover, being close to the university makes that area both crowded and noisy. To begin with, although owning a home near the campus is somehow considered a privilege, you lose the opportunity of being in contact with people, due to the fact that you probably would not use public transportation for reaching the university. Buses are my favorite kind of public transportation because they provide me with the opportunity to interact with people who use them as well as me. Not using the public transportation, people get isolated from society. For instance, much to my surprise one of my strongest friendship bonds has been established in on the bus on our way to the university. Secondly, being a student means you ought to face repaying your loans and you need to act in an economical way (sarfejooyieconomize). As the saying goes “money does not grow on trees” which is why owning a cheaper place far from the campus makes a huge different in students’ life. In other words, either can I spend the rest of the money doing activities I really enjoy or save it for a rainy day. My own experience in my senior year is a compelling example of this idea. Back then, I used to study and work simultaneously and finding a cheaper place allowed me to spend money on my ballet class and to continue my hobby. Last but not least, on the surface it comes across as living close to your campus is really helpful. Having said that, we probably forget about its downsides and how it can adversely affect your life quality. Universities’ University students and staff would make the area crowded. Not only do they bring traffic jams to the area but make noise pollution. They would use their private car riding to the university and there would be not enough parking spots left for people who live in the neighboring area which is why I prefer to find a home far from the universities. For example, my university does not contain enough parking spots in order for students to park their cars and they use nearby streets to do so and a vast majority of neighbors complaint about it all the time. To cut a long story short, the aforementioned points and examples have illustrated that I am in favor of choosing the home which is far from the campus. I opine that it is a personal decision and people should determine every aspect of it and decide wisely.
