Some parents buy their children a large number of toys to play with. What are the advantages and disadvantages for the child of having a large number of toys? As families lifestyle are moving forward to having less child in comparison with before, children have fewer playmates. In this regard, parents try to compensate their loneliness with buying more toys, following this issue, the question of whether this act is a good solution or not has emerged as one of the important psychological matters facing parents in today’s world. In this essay, I will explore the pros and cons of this behavior before giving my own opinion. On the one hand, as the parents mostly have an outdoor job these days, children are left alone … plenty of time. Having proper toy can help them overcome their loneliness. Besides, many of these playthings can teach children life lessons and make them ready for their future role in different society. Most of the baby girls, for instance, practice motherhood by taking a good care of their little doll. They waking their doll up every morning and feed them like their real child. On the other hand, many experts argue that preparing too many toys for children can spoil them. In other words, in this point of view, this outwardly extreme kindness from parents, not only decrease their level of joyous from any new thing, since they are getting used to achieve new things easily and frequently, but also diminish their ability to communicate with their peers, because they have just learned to pass their time by plenty of stuff, and they do not know how to play with other children. Furthermore, some toys can make children aggressive and threaten unconsciously their future personality instead of having a positive influence. For example, a child who plays with a toy gun today can acquire the real gun in his future life. As a result, the main conclusion to be drawn from this discussion is that were I to choose, I would never vote for this newly careless behavior of parents because beyond the shadow of a doubt, if families try to find some suitable games for their children, it would have some advantages, but even though I believe despite some benefits with this idea, the demerits of it clearly outweigh its merits.
