Topic: Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extend do you agree or disagree? While it is true that gender equality plays an incredibly crucial role in every society, when it comes to putting it into practice there are numerous hurdles that come in the way. On that account, I, to a certain degree, subscribe to the proposed view. On the one hand, there is no doubt that gender gap in any part of the society could present severe demerits. Poverty, societal health issues and parenting predicaments, just to name a few, are amongst the most notorious products of a gender-imbalanced culture. The Education system is one of the finest fields to commence the journey of tackling the aforesaid problem. Hence, the proportionate numerical appearance of genders could potentially provide a premier environment to bolster sexual equality. Every class at universities is a place to grasp an array of social skills alongside the wisdom that is being taught. Since each gender has their own burden and engagement within the society, they are in a way empowering one another. On the other hand, I opine that it is often troublesome to lay out a general rule to enforce Universities to admit the exact equal number of males and females into their curriculums. To elucidate, imagine a subject for which there is not an adequate number of both genders. What would happen here is that the University would either need to delay the commencement of that class up until the awaited gender registers for the subject, or proceed with the vacant seats. Moreover, in some majors there are naturally more female applicants than male. To cite and example, nursing is an expertise where which not only are women are more attracted to than men but also they perform better. For that reason, reserving seats on the basis of gender is akin to the fact that merit has no place in the education system. Nonetheless, there should be a form of endorsement for the spirit of this cause in order to foster a culture wherein there are no barriers for any person of any gender to enroll in any class. In conclusion, I, personally, am a proponent of gender equality in education systems, but I presume there must not be any rigid and ill-advised regulation for untangling such delicate social matters. However, promoting Universities to opt for taking an equal number of males and females, only when it is applicable, is a proper strategy.
