Some people prefer to live in a house, while others feel that there are more advantages to living in an apartment. Are there more advantages than disadvantages of living in a house compared with living in an apartment? It is quite evident that when it comes to choosing a place to live, society is sharply polarized. Some would go as far as to claim that if you have not experienced living in a house, you have not lived a quality life. Although I would not consider as much excellence in living in a house, I still harbor the thought that houses are not on par with flats, and they provide more convenience than do apartments. No one can deny the comforts that a private house can present to its residents. These would range from privacy aspects to the amenities one is able to experience within the place. Privacy, for instance, is a paramount factor for many citizens. Having a dedicated territory parting the whole building from the neighboring houses is a distinctive feature that offers an entirely private environment to the residents. You can throw a big party without anyone noticing the identities of the guests or even asking about the matter, whereas in a flat perhaps you would have to let the guardsmen know of the event beforehand to have a hassle-free gathering. Moreover, living in a house will carry a sense of freedom with itself, meaning that it feels like you genuinely own the property and are not sharing any communal sections with any other entity, as it is the case in apartments. Living in an apartment, however, can provide more security compared to a mansion. Since in apartments there are other people living in the same building, the safety is somehow doubled. For instance, if a family plans to go on a trip, the presence of the other members in the building would prevent a potential burglary. Another point worth mentioning is the fact that in some apartments people have the luxury of using built-in sports facilities which are not generally found in the houses, yet with enough budget, it is viable feasible to make the same setting in a house.It is, of course, difficult to draw a hard line between these two options, and it really comes down to personal preference. However, I could reason that since for many people privacy and freedom have more weight to them, living in a house would better fulfill their criteria of choosing a place to reside in.
