Some people believe that children are given too much free time. They feel that this time should be used to do more school work. How do you think children should spend their free time? Although parental encouragement to do more school work can help improve children’s academic performance, excessive parental expectation can be harmful. Some people believe that children should spend their free time doing more school work but many people including myself disagree with this issue. Even though spending free time to do more school work is beneficial for children’s grade, this can lead to some problems. For example, students who are forced to do more assignments in their free time become less sociable and their study motivation will be reduced as a result. These days students are under pressure to get high grades so that they can make their parents happy. One of the ways to reduce the level of stress is to utilize their free time for extra activities such as group sport games like football. Participating in football will help students learn how to finish their jobs within time constraint and teach them how to work in a team. In addition, they become more sociable and communicate more easily with their classmates. Another benefit of not spending free time on extra school work is to help children find their hobbies which they can enjoy during their leisure time. For instance, they may prefer to attend a variety of classes in art and music such as painting or learning how to play different musical instruments. one One advantage of attending drawing classes is improving the imagination of children and making them more creative. In summary, in my own opinion, I believe that children should utilize their free time by taking part in different activities rather than doing the monotonous school works.
